Frequently asked questions
Common questions.
Two ways ALGI helps: an energy platform for commercial buildings, and indoor condition monitoring for housing providers.
Commercial buildings
The energy platform
How can I tell if my building is overspending on energy?
Most buildings overspend without knowing where. ALGI builds an instant brief from public data, EPC, benchmarks, climate, and grid, so you can see how your building compares before uploading a single bill. Adding a bill sharpens the figures against live rates.
Do I need to install anything to get a property brief?
No. The brief is built entirely from public data using just your address. Hardware is optional and comes later, only if a building is ready for it.
How does ALGI find savings in my energy bills?
ALGI reads your bills, cross-references them against live tariff rates, and flags overcharges, anomalies, and tariff mismatches before you pay. Most buildings have at least one issue in the first ninety days.
Does ALGI make projections or use my real data?
Real data. ALGI works from your actual bills and public records, and always tells you which figures are measured and which are indicative, so every number is traceable to its source.
Can ALGI help with SECR compliance reporting?
Yes. ALGI generates SECR-aligned reports from your consumption data automatically, without a consultant.
Does ALGI find energy grants my building qualifies for?
Yes. ALGI matches your building against schemes like IETF, SALIX, and UKSPF, so you can see what you qualify for. Many buildings reach net zero cost in the first year.
What does the energy platform cost?
You can start free with a property brief and one bill analysis. Paid tiers are priced to the building; book a call and ALGI runs your brief before quoting.
For housing providers
Housing sensors
How can housing providers monitor damp and mould conditions?
ALGI Sense monitors humidity, temperature, and air quality in each room, continuously. Persistently high humidity is what lets mould take hold, so continuous monitoring lets you act on the conditions early and keep a logged record of them.
What does continuous indoor monitoring give a housing provider?
An objective, timestamped record of conditions in each home, rather than a snapshot from an inspection day. It supports how you identify and manage hazards, with an evidence trail grounded in real data.
Can ALGI help with Awaab's Law requirements?
The rules on housing conditions have tightened, with damp and mould in scope and excess cold and heat following. ALGI Sense gives continuous monitoring and a logged evidence trail to support how you identify and manage those conditions. It is one part of meeting your obligations, not a guarantee of compliance.
Does ALGI detect leaks?
Not directly. A sudden spike in humidity can be an early sign of water ingress, and ALGI Sense flags that change so you can investigate early.
Can it monitor a whole housing portfolio?
Yes. See conditions home by home or across every property in one view, spot the homes needing attention first, and report on the whole portfolio from one place.
What conditions does ALGI Sense measure?
Temperature, humidity, CO2, and PM2.5 (air quality), per room, continuously.
Do residents need to do anything?
No. ALGI Sense monitors conditions passively in the background; residents are not required to take readings or manage anything.
